Providing Live-In Care is very rawarding - it brings cheerfulness, good company and conversation to someone who is alone or isolated and at the same time, get to meet interesting people with fascinating life stories. This type of care enables carers to have one-to-one time with an individual, giving them time to build a relationship and maintain a high standard of care. As a Live-In carer, you will need to provide support and encouragement to empower the service user to achieve independence in a safe and secure environment.
The ideal applicant will need to be compassionate, kind, patient and a good listener to be able to understand the needs and points of views of the individual they are caring for. Every individual we care for has different needs however the typical daily duties include:
• Supporting with personal care
• Helping with medication
• Meal preparation
• Shopping and light domestic work
Typical working patterns for a live-in carer are seven days a week with a break every day. We thoroughly assess our clients, the tasks they want their carers to carry out, living conditions and the carer’s break times to ensure the workload and conditions are suitable for a live-in carer. The rates of pay are excellent at Absolute and we enjoy an enviable reputation, offering a comprehensive, personalised service that carefully matches clients to live-in carers for the best experience possible. You’ll receive full training from our Director of Care who is a registered Nurse and will be continually supported throughout your assignment.
Required licence or certification:
- Full Driving licence and own transport preferable
- NVQ Level 2 (desired but not essential)
- Ability to work independently and proactively
